Bet Hedge Calculator

A hedge is a second wager on the other side. This sizes the hedge so both outcomes return a similar amount. Hedging reduces both risk and ceiling.

Formula

Hedge stake = original payout / hedge decimal. Guaranteed ≈ original payout − hedge stake.

Worked examples

$100 at -110, hedge +120. Hedge stake ≈ $86.96 to lock a similar return.

FAQ

Should I always hedge?

No. Hedging buys certainty and gives up expected value if the original bet still has an edge.
