Preview

Tonight the Royals will wrap up a four-game road trip to Progressive Field in Cleveland.  Kansas City already leads the 2-1 coming into tonight's final matchup and will look to close out the series against their division rivals.  They lost their last two series 2-1 and have already been eliminated from playoff contention.  The Indians are coming off of a 2-1 series defeat of the Yankees, but their hopes of a postseason place have slipped away with their recent form.  Tonight they will at least try to ensure that they can split this series and stay in 2nd in the AL Central.

Carlos Hernandez (6-2, 3.91 ERA) Carlos Hernandez will take the mound first for the Royals tonight.  The second-year pitcher has a 3.91 ERA over 23 games this season and a WHIP of 1.29 over the same span.  In total, he's given up 67 hits for 35 ERs across 80.2 innings while striking out 73 batters and walking 38.

Indians

Prediction

Even though the Royals have been winning recently they've been involved in some low-scoring games and that has translated into this series.  The Indians bats were hot for two games against the Yankees but have since cooled down since Kansas City came to town.  The over / under at 9 seems too much of a stretch in this series.
