The Colorado State Rams will host the Utah State Aggies for a Mountain West Conference battle.
The Aggies survived a tough non-conference slate and managed to pick up victories over Oklahoma and Richmond along the way. The Aggies responded to a poor showing against Air Force by defeating New Mexico on the road, 90-87.
The Rams got out to one of the best starts in school history, and they began Mountain West play with a victory over Air Force, but they took their first loss of the season in tough fashion to San Diego State over the weekend, 79-49.
Utah State (8-6)
Justin Bean has really raised his game this season during his senior season. The 6'7 forward scored 24 points in the road win over Oklahoma and he's averaging 22.5 ppg, doubling his total from last year. Bean also leads the team with 10.5 rpg.
Fellow veteran Brock Miller remains a key cog in the Utah State offense. The fifth-year senior is averaging a career-best 9.3 ppg, while shooting 36.2% from deep.
Brandon Horvath and Rylan Jones have transferred in and meshed nicely through the first month of the season. Horvath was a big piece in UMBC legendary tournament run, and he's second on the team in scoring at 13.3 ppg.
Colorado State (9-6)
David Roddy has been the key piece for this team so far. The 6'6 junior will likely lead the team in scoring for a second season, as he's up to 19.5 ppg, while also leading the team in rebounding (7.8)
Fellow junior Isaiah Stevens has brought a lot of poise and playmaking to the backcourt. Th 6' guard has posted three double-doubles, and he's second on the team in scoring (14.6) and leads CSU with 6.3 apg.
John Tonje was also apart of that 2019 class, and he's the Rams third-leading scorer in his third season at 11.4 ppg.
Dischon Thomas hovers Roddy up front, and he scored a career-high 21 points in the win over Creighton.
Utah State isn't as imposing without Neemias Queta, and this contest may exploit that. Ultimately it will come down to the play of Justin Bean vs. David Roddy, and we like the latter on his home floor here in a rebound spot. Look for Colorado State to respond to their first loss strong here.
Take Colorado State's spread for this one.
PICK: Colorado State +4.5
