Tonight we have the Timberwolves traveling to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. The Wolves come into this game struggling as they have now dropped 4 straight games. They could be without DeAngello Russel again tonight as he battles and injury and comes into this game questionable. The Grizzlies come into this game after dropping a game to the Wizards in miserable fashion losing 115-87. They'll still be without Dillon Brooks as he works his way back. They will look to bounce back tonight against a struggling Timberwolves team.
The Timberwolves may or may not get Russel back tonight and that could have a significant part in who wins this game tonight. This team has run through Anthony Edwards and Karl Anthony Towns, as both have been filling up the stat sheet. They don't boast the best surrounding pieces as the likes of Jared Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, Taurean Prince, and Patrick Beverley haven't brought much to this team so far this season. This team could still matchup with this Grizzlies team but the surrounding pieces around Edwards and KAT will have to step it up and produce more than they have been to start the year. If Russel is able to return he brings more scoring and playmaking a this team that is lacking it in a major way right now.
The Grizzlies will continue to run through Ja Morant who is coming off a poor shooting night last time out. He's been on a tear to start the season though and will look to bounce back in a nice pace up spot against the Wolves. Jaren Jackson will also be a focal point on the offensive end and can go off any night as long as he stays out of foul trouble, which he is once again struggling with. De'Anthony Melton and Desmond Bane will be tasked with helping out in the scoring and defensive departments, both can playmake some as well. Steven Adams will man the middle for this team and brings tough defense and night in and night out. This Grizzlies team lacks scoring output and have one of the worst defensive ratings in the league. They will look to bounce back against a struggling Wolves squad.
I'll be taking the Wolves in this one as they look to get back in the win column. I see this as a pretty even matchup but I'd give the scoring edge to the Wolves and I'll be backing KAT and Edwards to come out and have big games. This should be a close game all night.
PICK: Timberwolves (+200)
