The San Antonio Spurs will host the Sacramento Kings for their first matchup this season. Sacramento took two of three for the Spurs last season.
Harrison Barnes has really come into his own this season. The former UNC forward has already supplied heroics this season with a buzzer-beater win against the Suns, and he's averaging career-highs of 22.5 ppg, and 8.7 rpg.
De'Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, and Davion Mitchell form a talented Kings backcourt. Fox's numbers are down, but he's bound to get things going soon. Haliburton is growing into one of the more well-rounded guards in the league, while Mitchell is enjoying a solid rookie season playing beside both young guards.
Richaun Holmes has emerged as a double-double threat in the middle. The seventh-year big had a monstrous 23/20 game against the Hornets, and he's averaging career-highs of 14.3 ppg, and 10.1 rpg.
San Antonio Spurs
Dejounte Murray is the new face of Spurs basketball, and it seems to be in good hands. Murray has flirted with triple-double production in every game this, and he's putting up career-highs across the board. The former UW guard is averaging 17.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg, and 8.3 apg.
Keldon Johnson may be taking a step forward in year three. He's second on the team in scoring, averaging a career-best 16.2 ppg.
Derrick White and Lonnie Walker bring more versatility to the backcourt, with the former being second on the team in assists with 5.6.
Jakob Poeltl's absence will be felt in this one, as the former Utah man has brought stability to the middle, posting four double-doubles in seven games.
Sacramento enters this one on the heels of a tough loss to Phoenix, while the rebuilding Spurs managed to drop a game to OKC. The floor may be a bit more open without Poeltl, but that will absolutely miss his presence in this one, as Richan Holmes could be in for another big night. We're going to sway with the Kings here on the road, as they are real threats to push for a playoff spot this season.
PICK: Sacramento Kings -0.5
