Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks will try to even the series against the Miami Heat in Game 4 of their first-round Eastern Conference playoff matchup on April 24, 2023, at the Kaseya Center. After a disappointing loss in Game 3, the Bucks will need to step up their game and come out with a win to avoid being pushed to the brink of elimination.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks had a dominant regular season, finishing with the best record in the Eastern Conference, but they have struggled to translate that success into the playoffs. In the first three games of their series against the Heat, the Bucks have looked vulnerable, particularly on defense.

Despite the presence of stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, the Bucks have struggled to keep up with the Heat's offense. They allowed the Heat to score over 120 points in each of the first two games and gave up 121 points in Game 3.

The Bucks will need to tighten up their defense in Game 4 if they hope to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole. They will also need to get more production from their supporting cast, particularly from players like Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez.

Miami Heat

The Heat are looking to pull off an upset against the favored Bucks and move on to the next round of the playoffs. So far, they have done a great job of containing the Bucks' offense and getting contributions from their own players.

Jimmy Butler has been a standout performer for the Heat, averaging 22.9 points per game in the series. He has been a force on both ends of the court, providing clutch scoring and lockdown defense.

In addition to Butler, the Heat have gotten solid contributions from Goran Dragic, Bam Adebayo, and Duncan Robinson. They will need these players to continue to step up if they hope to hold off the Bucks and close out the series.

Betting Trends

The Bucks are currently 5.5-point favorites in Game 4, with an over/under of 218 points. The public betting data shows that 67.4% of the bets are on the Bucks to cover the spread, while 55.3% of the bets are on the over.

The Bucks have struggled to cover the spread in this series, going just 1-2 ATS in the first three games. However, they have been a strong road team all season, going 26-15 ATS away from home.

On the other hand, the Heat have been a poor home team this season, going just 27-14 ATS at home. However, they have been a strong underdog team, going 33-51-3 ATS as underdogs.

Prediction

While the Bucks have struggled in this series, we believe they have what it takes to even things up in Game 4. They have the talent and experience to bounce back from a tough loss and take control of the series.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo likely to play in Game 4 after missing the last game due to injury, the Bucks should have enough firepower to keep up with the Heat's offense. Look for Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday to step up as well and provide some much-needed scoring.

Defensively, the Bucks have the potential to be one of the best teams in the league. They were a top 10 team in defensive rating during the regular season, and they have the length and athleticism to disrupt Miami's offensive flow.

The Heat will be without some key players as Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are listed as doubtful for this game, which will be a significant blow to their chances of winning.

Pick: Bucks -5.5
