The Rangers will take on the Angels tonight, their 2nd game in this 4 game series.  Angels took game one of this series lastnight, 3-2.  Both teams sit in the bottom two spots in the AL West with no hope of making the playoffs.  The Rangers enter this game having only won 16 games on the road, a trend they want to change. These teams could be on cruise control the rest of the year as this season starts to come to its end.

Jose Suarez (5-7, 4.10 ERA) will be on the mound for the Angels tonight. He comes into this game with a 1.34 WHIP and 4.27 XFIP.  This season he's managed a 20.2% strikeout rate paired with a high 9.3% walk rate.  Suarez has been decent this year, he comes into this game with reverse splits as he has handled right handed batters very well this year. He relies on his groundball prowess, evidenced by his 55.3% ground ball rate. He will look to keep this lowly Rangers lineup in check tonight and pick up his 6th win of the season.

Prediction

I'll look to back the slightly better bats and pitching of the Angels tonight.  The projected lineup for the Rangers is ugly and half their lineup boasts high groundball rates, playing right into the hands of Suarez.  This could be an ugly game in general as both these teams (aside from Ohtani) are far from entertaining.
