MLB Best Bets & Player Props for September 24, 2025

MLB Best Bets & Player Props – Wednesday, September 24, 2025

We’re closing out the midweek slate with a full day of action across both leagues. Several divisional matchups carry playoff implications, while others showcase elite pitching duels. Below are the best bets and props for the games where starting pitchers are confirmed.

Nationals (64-94) at Braves (75-83) – 9:15 AM ET, MLBN

Probables: Andrew Alvarez (WSH, 1–1, 2.84) vs. Bryce Elder (ATL, 8–10, 5.36)

Odds: ATL -185 | WSH +155 | Total: 9.5

Best Bet: Over 9.5 Runs (-110)

Atlanta’s bats have woken up at home, and Elder has been hittable with a 5+ ERA. Alvarez has looked sharp early in his career, but the Braves are a tough assignment on the road. Both bullpens rank in the bottom half of MLB ERA since September.

Prop Pick: Matt Olson Anytime HR (+360)

Olson’s power against righties is always dangerous, and Alvarez is still adjusting to major-league lineups with big bats.

Rays (76-81) at Orioles (74-83) – 3:35 PM ET, FS1

Probables: Shane Baz (TB, 10–12, 4.99) vs. Tyler Wells (BAL, 2–0, 2.04)

Odds: BAL -120 | TB EVEN | Total: 8.5

Best Bet: Orioles ML (-120)

Wells has stabilized Baltimore’s rotation since his return. Baz has flashed talent but is inconsistent, and Camden Yards has been kinder to the O’s lineup in September. With the teams nearly even in record, Baltimore has the edge in the starting pitching matchup.

Prop Pick: Gunnar Henderson Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)

Henderson has been Baltimore’s best hitter at home and gets a favorable matchup against Baz’s fastball-heavy approach.

Tigers (85-72) at Guardians (85-72) – 3:40 PM ET

Probables: Jack Flaherty (DET, 8–14, 4.60) vs. Tanner Bibee (CLE, 11–11, 4.34)

Odds: CLE -125 | DET +105 | Total: 7.5

Best Bet: Under 7.5 Runs (-110)

Both offenses have been streaky, and with playoff stakes high, expect a tighter, lower-scoring contest. Bibee has been effective at Progressive Field, while Flaherty has quietly put together solid outings down the stretch.

Prop Pick: José Ramírez Over 0.5 RBI (+125)

Ramírez thrives in clutch late-season spots and will likely see RBI opportunities in the middle of the order.

Pirates (68-89) at Reds (80-77) – 3:40 PM ET

Probables: Paul Skenes (PIT, 10–10, 2.03) vs. Hunter Greene (CIN, 7–4, 2.74)

Odds: CIN -120 | PIT EVEN | Total: 6.5

Best Bet: Under 6.5 Runs (-105)

This has “pitcher’s duel” written all over it. Skenes and Greene are two of the hardest throwers in baseball, and both lineups have struggled with consistency. Runs should be scarce unless a bullpen cracks late.

Prop Pick: Paul Skenes Over 8.5 Strikeouts (+100)

The Reds swing big, and Skenes’ velocity plus breaking ball combo can exploit that aggressiveness.

Marlins (77-80) at Phillies (92-65) – 3:45 PM ET

Probables: Ryan Weathers (MIA, 2–1, 3.21) vs. Jesús Luzardo (PHI, 14–7, 4.08)

Odds: PHI -190 | MIA +160 | Total: 8.5

Best Bet: Phillies -1.5 (+115)

Philadelphia is pushing for playoff seeding and has handled weaker teams at Citizens Bank Park. Luzardo hasn’t been spotless but gets strong run support. Weathers faces a top-five offense in home OPS.

Prop Pick: Bryce Harper Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

Harper’s September numbers are excellent, and he thrives against left-handers like Weathers.

Red Sox (86-71) at Blue Jays (90-67) – 4:07 PM ET

Probables: Garrett Crochet (BOS, 17–5, 2.69) vs. Max Scherzer (TOR, 5–4, 5.06)

Odds: BOS -145 | TOR +120 | Total: 7.5

Best Bet: Red Sox ML (-145)

Crochet has been one of the best lefties in baseball this season, while Scherzer has struggled to stay consistent with velocity down. Boston has played well on the road, and this matchup leans heavily in their favor.

Prop Pick: Rafael Devers Over 0.5 HR (+375)

Devers matches up well with Scherzer’s declining fastball.

Twins (68-89) at Rangers (79-78) – 5:05 PM ET
