Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers travel to Baltimore to play the only series in the 2022 season they'll have against the Orioles. Both teams lost their opening day series, Brewers lost against the Cubs and the Orioles got swept by the Rays.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers are coming from their first win of the season but lost the series against the Chicago Cubs. After getting blanked in the 2nd game of the series 9-0 Brosseau's pinch-hit HR sends Brewers past Cubs 5-4. Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez also went deep, helping the reigning NL Central champions overcome a shaky performance by starter Freddy Peralta. Christian Yelich had two hits and drove in a run.

Freddie Peralta, who went 10-5 with a 2.81 ERA for Milwaukee last year, allowed three hits, struck out six and walked four in four innings.

Probable Pitcher:

Adrian Houser (0-0, 0.0 ERA) will take the mound in the 1st game of the series for the Brewers. Houser was 10-6 with an ERA of 3.22, the lowest in his career, and 105 strikeouts in 28 appearances in 2021. He hasn't pitched against the Orioles in his career.

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the opening series and the expectations for this year are not looking good. They scored only 4 runs in the last 3 games and they had one of the worst records in the MLB last season. Ryan Mountcastle is leading Baltimore with five hits in 12 at-bats, one home run, and two RBI.

Tyler Wells made his first major league start for the Orioles and didn't get through the second inning. The Rays loaded the bases with two walks and an infield single, then chased the 27-year-old right-hander with Mike Zunino's sacrifice fly, Manuel Margot's RBI grounder and Lowe's 437-foot homer to right-center.

Probable Pitcher:

Bruce Zimmerman (0-0, 0-0 ERA) will be on the mound for the Orioles in the 1st game of the series. The 27-year-old lefty turned in a rather underwhelming rookie season in 2021, finishing with a 5.04 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 11.9 K-BB% in 64.1 innings.

BETTING TRENDS

Milwaukee are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games against Baltimore.

Milwaukee are 1-8 SU in their last 9 games on the road.

Baltimore are 0-6 SU in their last 6 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Baltimore's last 10 games at home.

Prediction

The Brewers avoided the sweep against the Cubs and will have a much easier rival on this series. The Orioles are not looking good in the start of the season as they've only score 4 runs so far. These teams haven't faced each other since 2017 but the Brewers are clearly the better team and they are 14-3 in the last 17 regular-season games started by Houser. Take the Brewers on the run line.

PICK: Brewers -1.5 (+100)
