The San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics will wrap up their three-game set Sunday afternoon.

The Giants have put together their best month of baseball. They've won eleven of their last thirteen games, and they now sit three games atop the NL West. The return of Evan Longoria and the addition of Kris Bryant have brought life and power to a talented lineup. Last night, a timely home run from LaMonte Wade Jr. in the ninth inning propelled San Fran to victory.

The Athletics remain entrenched in a contested AL Playoff race. At 70-54, Oakland sits just through games behind Houston for the AL West crown, and they sit a half game above Boston in the wild card race. They managed to take game one from the Giants, but late-game heroics allowed San Fran to steal game two.

Pitching Matchup

Logan Webb (7-3, 2.92 ERA) will get the call for the Giants. He's been incredibly consistent this year in just his third season. Webb has thrown eight or more strikeouts in his previous three starts, and he hasn't lost a game since May. He also hasn't given up more than two runs since May, and he really gives the Giants a good chance to steal this one on the road.

Athletics

Frankie Montas (9-9, 4.04 ERA) will take the mound for Oakland. The flame throwing right hander has locked in since the beginning of July. He's thrown ten strikeouts three times during that span, and hasn't given up more than three runs since a loss to the Rangers in June. He's won his last pair of starts at Oakland-Alameda.

Prediction

The Battle of the Bay will wrap up with both teams looking to secure their playoff position. This set has been tough to call, and the live bets have been the best route. Logan Webb's three-start win streak provides optimism for the Giants on the road here. Oakland's pedestrian approach at the plate leaves them vulnerable to strong, steady pitchers like Webb, so that may be the route to go. Bet on San Francisco to win, and take a look at the over with great bats on both sides.
