Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins will play a quick two-game set this Tuesday from Target Field. The hosts enter on the heels of two straight victories, while the visitors are coming off of two road losses.

The Dodgers dropped two at Coors Field to the Rockies after picking up the Opening Day victory. An uncharactheristic start from 20-game winner Julio Urias brings LAD into Minnesota with a minor sense of urgency. Look for their bats to get going soon.

The Twins shut Seattle out last evening behind a strong effort from newcomer Dylan Bundy on the mound. A big fifth inning from the heart of the lineup would be all they needed, picking up their second win in as many days over Seattle.

Andrew Heaney (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will get the call for Los Angeles here. The eigth-year pitcher returned to LA over the summer after being traded to New York at the deadline from the Angels, and he's set to have a key role in the Dodgers rotation this season. Heaney posted an 8-9 record with a 6.29 ERA in 2021.

 

Twins

Chris Archer (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will take the mound for Minnesota. A change of scenery could be just what the former longtime Rays pitcher needed. The 2x All-Star started 23 games or more for seven straight seasons, and he could become a different maker for the Twins this season. 

 

Prediction

How well Andrew Heaney fares in his first start on the road will go along way in this one. He's was erratic last season, and so was Archer in the limited action he played. There's a lot of firepower on both sides, and I like a lot of runs this evening.
