The Colorado Rockies will host the suprisingly hot Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game set at Coors Field this weekend. Colorado leads the season series 7-6, despite dropping two of three in Arizona last month.

The Diamondbacks have been darlings for bettors over the past few weeks. After nearly sweeping the Padres at home, they'd go on and complete the sweep over the Phillies last night. The Dbacks went into all of those matchups as underdogs and came out as winners. Their the worse road team in the league, but this recent stretch of play has been admirable.

The Rockies have enjoyed a run as darlings themselves, picking up a pair of sweeps at home and stealing one in the Bay last week against the Giants. Coors remains their best asset, and they're one of only a handful of teams to record 40 wins at home this season.

Pitching Matchup

Tyler Gilbert (1-1, 0.00 ERA) will take the mound for Arizona. The rookie has enjoyed an interesting start to his career. After making three relief appearances, the 6'3 lefty went out and pitched an impressive no-hitter against the Padres. Gilbert struck out five batters over nine innings of work and what a way to record his first career win. He has ace of staff potential, but this will mark his first appearance at Coors field, so first game jitters may factor in.

Austin Gomber (9-7, 4.09 ERA) will get the call for Colorado this Friday. The third-year pitcher missed a month of action, and he's come back a little shaky. He was roughed up by the Giants and Rockies on the road, but he's been rock solid at home this season. He fanned nine hitters against Miami en route to his career-best ninth win in his last start at Coors.

It's really hard to bet against Colorado at home, but Arizona's recent stretch of play shouldn't be ignored here, even on the road. Gilbert's no-hitter can't be overlooked either, as the rookie may just be the real deal. Still, betting against the Rockies at Coors is a risky game, and the Diamondbacks struggled on the road are well-noted. Bet on the Rockies run line tonight, and take a look at the over with both teams producing at the plate this month.

PICK: Colorado Rockies -1.5 (-105)
