The Colorado Rockies and the Texas Rangers will play the second game of the series at the Globe Life Field on Tuesday night. The Rockies won the 1st game of the series where the final out was determined to end a home-opening loss for the Texas Rangers. Colorado manager Bud Black asked for a replay review in the bottom of the 10th inning after second baseman Brendan Rodgers, with new Rangers catcher Mitch Garver sliding hard toward him, made an errant throw that allowed a run to score while taking away the chance for a game-ending double play. Upon further review from MLB headquarters, it was a double play that ended the Rockies' 6-4 win over the Rangers on Monday.

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have won 3 games in a row and are averaging 5.25 runs per game while allowing 3.75 runs. CJ Cron is leading the team with 2 home runs a 4 RBI while Elias Diaz has the better batting average with .385.

Ty Bach has had the best pitching performance. He pitched in the 9-4 win against the Dodgers in the opening series. He allowed only 1 hit and no runs striking out 4 in 4 innings pitched.

Probable Pitcher:

Chad Kuhl (0-0, 0.0 ERA) will take the mound in the 2nd game of the series for the Rockies. Kuhl had a 5-7 record with an ERA of 4.82 and 75 strikeouts in 28 appearances in 2021. He hasn't pitched against the Rangers in his career.

Texas Rangers

The Rangers lost 1st game of the series against the Rockies and are 1-3 at home. The offense continue to respond scoring an average of 6.75 runs per game but are also allowing a lot of runs. Brad Miller leads the team with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. Nathaniel Lowe is batting for .400 avg and .438 OBP.

Texas bullpen didn't do so well in the opening series, allowed 20 runs in 3 games.

Probable Pitcher:

Martin Perez (0-0, 0-0 ERA) will be on the mound for the Rangers in the 2nd game of the series. Perez made his first Cactus League start and was efficient through his three innings. He allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out none over three innings in Wednesday's spring training start against the White Sox. Last season he had a 7-8 record with an ERA of 4.74 and 97 strikeouts in 36 appearances in 2021.

Colorado are 10-4 SU in their last 14 games on the road.

Colorado are 6-2 SU in their last 8 games against Texas.

Texas are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games.

Texas are 5-10 SU in their last 15 games at home.

Both teams have shown some great offense and are averaging over 5 runs per game. It's uncertain how Kuhl and Perez will be on their first game of season and both averaged an ERA over de 4.7 last season. With both sides pounding the ball hard I'll take the over again.
