Preview

The Rangers end their four-game series at the Angels having already been officially eliminated from playoff contention.  They trail 2-1 in the series after winning 7-3 last night.  The Angels who still have an outside chance of postseason survival defeated the Yankees 2-1 before hosting Texas.  LAA don't control their path to the playoffs but aren't out of the race so they will try to recover from their last loss and wrap up this series against the Rangers.

Jaime Barria (2-2, 1.57 ERA) Jaime Barria is in line to start his game of the season for the Angels with a 1.57 ERA.  He had an ERA of 3.41 in 2018, 6.42 in 2019 and 3.62 in 2020.  Barria had a busy August playing five games and going for 14 ERs off 30 hits.  He also has eight strikeouts compared to five walks.

Prediction

Both teams have been inconsistent with their batting recently and haven't been able to put runs on the board.  The Angels season isn't completely over though so expect them to end this series with a win tonight.
