Preview

The Athletics are in Kauffman Stadium for the first of a three-game tilt against the Royals.  The A's are still clinging to the possibility of a Wild Card spot as they two games off of the Red Sox who occupy the second spot.  Oakland lose their last series 2-1 to the Rangers and are on a two-game losing streak which snapped their four-game winning run.  The Royals are 4th in the AL Central and have just about seen their season come to an end.  They beat the Twins 2-1 in their last series and have now won three of their last four games.
