Golden State Warriors
Golden State has been on a tear this season, and at 11-1, they now sit comfortably atop the vaunted Western Conference.
Steph Curry is in the midst of an MVP season. The former Davidson guard had outbursts 40 and 50 points last week, and he shows no signs of slowing down. He's averaging 28.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 6.4 apg, while shooting 40% from deep.
Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole have stepped this year in Klay Thompson absence, and given the Warriors two strong scorers surrounding Curry. Both slashers average over 17 points per game.
Draymond Green continues to heartbeat of the Golden State roster. The tenth-year swiss-army knife is averaging 7.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, and 7.2 apg.
Miles Bridges has asserted himself as the frontrunner for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award with his impressive start. He's cooled down a bit since a season-high 32 points in the first matchup with Golden State, but Bridges leads the team in scoring (21.3) and rebounding (7.5).
LaMelo Ball's play has picked up in his second season as well. After cooling off from a hot start, Ball has scored 20+ in five of his last six games. Ball's averaging 19.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 6.3 apg, and slowly turning into a triple-double threat nightly.
Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre Jr. bring unique skillsets to the lineup. Hayward's ability to score, rebound and distribute has been on display early, while Oubre's two-way style has made life simpler on Miles Bridges. Oubre is coming off a career-high 37 points in the win over Memphis.
Golden State's momentum is too tough to ignore, but Charlotte can be a very tough environment to play in. It'll be a homecoming of sorts for Steph Curry, so we'll continue to ride their wave here.
Take the Warriors spread cautiously tonite.
PICK: Golden State Warriors -4.5
