The Philadelphia 76ers will travel to the Barclays Center and take on the Brooklyn Nets this Thursday.
Philly has responded to a three-game skid by winning three of their last four games. The team is getting healthier and still managing to thrive without former All-Star Ben Simmons.
Aside from having health protocols alter winnable games against Houston and Orlando, Brooklyn has enjoyed a successful month of December. The Nets have won eight elven games ths month, and their set to get star guard Kyrie Irving back soon.
Joel Embiid has been on a tear since returning from a knee injury. The former KU big has scored 32 or more in four of his last five games, and he should give this frail Brooklyn team some trouble tonight.
Tobias Harris is fresh off of his first career triple-double, and continues to thrive along Doc Rivers side. The tenth-year forward is averaging a well-rounded 18.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg and 3.7 apg.
Seth Curry and Tyrese Maxey have stepped up in Ben Simmons absence, especially the latter. Maxey's scoring is up to 16.5 ppg this season, and he leads the team in assists (4.5).
Kevin Durant is in the midst of an MVP season. The former Warrior has kept the Nets afloat with a league-leading 28.6 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 5.4 apg.
James Harden was dominant in his home stint in Los Angeles, posting season-highs of 36 and 39 points in wins over the Lakers and Clippers.
LaMarcus Aldridge has stepped up as a third option with Kyrie Irving still unavailable. The former Texas big has scored 15 or more in eight of his past ten games, averaging 14.1 ppg and 5.7 rpg.
Patty Mills have been the glue in Brooklyn this season, and his outburst have kept the Nets afloat. Mills is averaging a career-high 14.4 ppg.
The Nets are starting to figure things out as a team, and it's clicking. Steve Nash is getting the best out of LMA, and role players such as DeAndre Bembry and James Johnson, while the stars continue to do the heavy lifting. The Sixers have remained one of the tougher outs in the league, but we're trusting Brooklyn's momentum for this one.
Take Brooklyn's spread cautiously tonight.
PICK: Brooklyn Nets -5.5
