Preview
The San Francisco 49ers will host the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night at the Levi's Stadium. These teams faced each other twice last season in LA and they tied 1-1 but the 49ers covered the spread in both games.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were dominated by Buffalo in the kick off game of the season but they won the next 2 games against the Falcons and the Cardinals. The Rams are posting the third-lowest rushing average in the NFL at 72.3 yards per game, easily the lowest mark in McVay's six seasons, while averaging a pitiful 3.4 yards per run. Although Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson are having trouble, McVay has still found ways to exploit the fundamental components of the running game.
The Defense survived quite an onslaught on Sunday afternoon defending 58 passing plays from Arizona's Kyler Murray, who is notoriously hard to defend because of his ability to throw and run.. Aaron Donald has one sack in his past five games against San Francisco after having 10 1/2 the previous six meetings.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers get here with a 2-1 record and lost their last game on the road against the Denver Broncos 11-10. Garappolo looked rusty and missed on a few chances at big plays in the first half, then turned it over twice in the second half, as well as stepping out of the end zone for a safety in the 11-10 loss to Denver. Brandon Ayiuk leads the team with 142 yards received and 1 touchdown while Jeff Wilson Jr. has 181 rushing yards in 39 carries.
The Defense has been pretty tough allowin only 12.3 points per game, 167 pass yards and 78 rushing yards. All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams is out with a high ankle sprain and will likely be replaced by Colton McKivitz.
