After giving up five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings in Game 1, Eovaldi's run of consecutive excellent starts came to an end. Still, he ended up with eight strikeouts. The Diamondbacks will get a second chance to see him in this series, and after roughing him up last Friday, they probably feel confident about seeing him. In light of that, I wouldn't anticipate eight strikeouts once again.

The offense of the Rangers has definitely clicked, as seen by their 11 runs scored despite without their best hitter in the lineup. Gallen has not performed well in the postseason, and I don't believe he locks it in just yet. Eovaldi was meant for situations like this.

The Diamondbacks managed to sneak out the victory in Game 4 because of the constant influx of different pitchers, which appeared to confuse the Phillies' hitters just enough. They might also avoid seeing Garcia, who has nine postseason home runs, which is an advantage.

With a 3-1 record at home in the postseason, the Diamondbacks have performed admirably. With two straight victories at home, one of which was initiated by Pfaadt, they immediately regained their place in the NLCS. Pfaadt has started for the Diamondbacks in each of the last five games and six of the last seven, so they obviously feel comfortable with him in the starting role.

Max Scherzer has lost his last four starts and isn't the same player he once was. In Arizona, the ceiling is open, which typically increases the total by over 1.5 runs. The big story here, though, is Arizona's starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt, who has struggled against opponents in his last five starts, giving up just five runs in all. Out of those five starts, four remained below.

Despite only having played four of their fourteen postseason games at home, the DBacks are 3-1. Additionally, they have triumphed in both of the home game threes they have faced in these playoffs. In those two games, Pfaadt has started and has only given up four hits in ten innings pitched.

Gallen gave up nine runs and five home runs in 11 innings, though, so it was not a nice series for him against the Phillies. In 26 innings of play throughout the playoffs, Eovaldi has struck out 28 batters while giving up just seven runs. He has a 2.87 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP in 69 career postseason innings.

As October arrived, Eovaldi's performance only improved. The playoff-experienced right-hander has pitched at least six innings in each of his four postseason starts and has won all four of them. Gallen has had trouble controlling runners in scoring position, but Eovaldi has done well. Throughout the regular season and into the postseason, Eovaldi had the best ERA in baseball with RISP.

World Series Game 1 has all the makings of a classic pitching duel. Both Gallen and Eovaldi are elite pitchers, and the best bet for this contest is the under of 8.5 runs. With their exceptional form and the gravity of the World Series, we can expect precision pitching and tight defense.

The Philadelphia Philles and Arizona D-backs are in a pivatol game 7 tonight airing on TBS at 8:07 EST. The Phillies will have Ranger Suárez on the hill who is 1-0 with a low 0.64 era for the playoffs so far. His WHIP matches his era at 0.64. The Phillies will be facing Brandon Pfaadt who has a 2.13 ERA 15 Ks and a 0.95 WHIP. I’m leaning with the Arizona D-backs in this one even tho it’s at the Phillies.
