Preview
The Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will play the 2nd game of the series at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday. The Blue Jays outscored the Orioles 11-1 on Monday to take the lead in the series. Alek Manoah pitched six scoreless innings to extend his streak to 12.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles get here with a 26-36 record and have lost 3 of their last 5 games. The team is averaging 4 runs while allowing 4.62 runs per game. Anthony Santander leads the team with 11 home runs and 33 RBI. Austin Hays is batting for a .297 avg
Jordan Lyles leads the pitching staff with a 4.97 ERA, 55 strikeouts and 3 wins recorded.
Probable Pitcher:
Jordan Lyles (3-5, 4.97 ERA) will be on the mound for the Orioles in the 2nd game of the series. Lyles was charged with the loss against Kansas City on Thursday, pitching five innings and allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one batter. He is 1-1 with an ERA of 7.79 and 7 strikeouts in 4 appearances against the Blue Jays in his career.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays get here with a 36-24 record and have won 3 of their last 5 games. The team is averaging 4.46 runs while allowing 4 runs per game. Vladimir Guerrero Jr leads the team with .258 ERA, 37 RBI and 15 home runs.
Alek Manoah earned the win against the Orioles pitching 6 scoreless innings and leads the team with a 1.67 ERA and 68 strikeouts recording 8 wins for the Jays.
Probable Pitcher:
Yusei Kikuchi (2-2, 4.44 ERA) will be on the mound for the Blue Jays in the 2nd game of the series. In Wednesday's 8-4 defeat to the Royals, Kikuchi didn't impact into the decision, giving up three runs on two singles and four walks while getting only two outs, both via strikeout. He has a 1-1 record with an ERA of 4.15 and 10 strikeouts in 2 appearances against the Orioles in his career.
BETTING TRENDS
Baltimore are 0-7 SU in their last 7 games against Toronto.
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Baltimore's last 5 games on the road.
Toronto are 14-4 SU in their last 18 games.
The total has gone OVER in 6 of Toronto's last 7 games against Baltimore.
Prediction
The Orioles were dominated by Manoah in the first of the series and scored only 1 run in the game but they'll now face Kikuchi who hasn't been very effective this season and has a 4.15 ERA against them. The Blue Jays offense continue to stay hot and looks like they will continue like that as they will face Jordan Lyles who has been struggling all season. I think the Blue Jays win but I don't trust in Kikuchi so I'll go with the over as both starters should allow 3-4 runs.
PICK: Over 9.5 (-110)
