Tonight the Royal will be in Baltimore to take on the lowly Orioles.  This will be their 3rd game in this 4 game series for these teams.  The Royals took game one 3-2, while the Orioles won 7-3 last night.  Both teams enter this game well out of the playoff picture.  The Royals come in as one of the better base running teams in the league and Harvey has been succeptible to some stolen bases this season.  Both these teams will look to pick up some wins and find a pulse before the season comes to an end.

Pitching matchup

Mike Minor (8-12, 5.25 ERA) wil be on the mound today to take on the Orioles in Baltimore.  He enters this game with a 1.26 WHIP and 4.67 XFIP.  This season he sports a 22.8% strikeout rate paired with a 6.8% walk rate.  Minor has been decent this season, he's been succeptible to the long ball at times this year but other than that he has been solid for this Royals team.  He comes into this game off a nice outting against the Indians where he threw 5 innings, striking out 4 hitters and allowing 2 ER's.  Baltimore has hit left handed hurlers pretty well this season so if Minor can get through some of these right handed power bats that the Orioles throw at him, he should be in good shape to pick up his 9th win of the season.

Matt Harvey (6-14, 6.28 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Baltimore Orioles tonight when they take on the Royals.  Harvey comes into this game with a 1.52 WHIP and 5.01 XFIP.  This season Harvey boasts a low 16.8% strikeout rate paired with a 6.2% walk rate.  Harvey has been bad this year, allowing premium contact and power to both sides of the plate. He comes into this game after a start against the Blue Jays, throwing 4 innings while allowing 4 ER's. Though the Royals lineup has been extremely mediocre this year, Harvey will have to find something that he hasn't been able to find all year if he wants to have a sliver of succes tonight.

I'll look to target the pitching matchup in this one and I'll once again put my trust in this Royals lineup to wake up and get to Matt Harvey.  Minor should be able to find success without having a ton of damage done against him, keeping the right handed bats in check.
