Preview

With only 6 games left in the regular season, there are still Wild Card spots up for grabs and both the A's and the Mariners have their sights set on one of those places as they head into a three-game tilt tonight in Seattle.  The home team is a game ahead of their visitors in the AL West and both still need the misfortune of other teams to seal a post-season berth.  Seattle last beat The Angels 2-1 - which was only their second loss in the last 10 games - after sweeping Oakland when they visited the Coliseum.  After being swept at home, however, the A's recovered to sweep the Astros 3-0 so momentum is on their side coming into this divisional matchup.

Prediction

The A's have struggled to beat the Mariners this season and were swept just a week ago in a 4-game series.  Even though they have a longer winning streak than Seattle, they're back to face a pitcher that they've also struggled against.  Seattle has been too dominant recently with only 2 arbitrary losses in the last 10 games.  Expect Seattle to take the first game of this series at home.
