Preview

The Colorado Rockies travel to Texas to play a 4-game series against the Rangers. Both teams are coming from wins but the Rangers lost their last series against the Blue Jays while the Rockies beat the Dodgers at home.

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies upset the Dodgers in the opening series. Colorado won 2 of the 3 games at home and are averaging 5 runs per game while allowing 3.66 runs. In their last game against the Dodgers C.J. Cron drilled a two-run homer and the Rockies led 6-0 after the third inning, but with the swirling conditions, no lead was safe. The Dodgers cut it to 6-4 after left fielder Kris Bryant dropped Freddie Freeman's fly for a three-run error. Elias Díaz added some insurance in the seventh with a two-run homer to make it 9-4.

Rockies righty Antonio Senzatela allowed four runs, one earned, over 3 1/3 innings. Jhoulys Chacín earned the win by throwing 1 2/3 innings and striking out three. Blach took it home from there.

Probable Pitcher: 

Austin Gomber (0-0, 0.0 ERA) will take the mound in the 1st game of the series for the Rockies. Gomber had a 9-9 record with an ERA of 4.53 and 113 strikeouts in 23 appearances in 2021. He pitched 2 times games against the Rangers and recorded 1 win and 1 loss, allowing 4 runs in 10.1 innings.

Texas Rangers

The Rangers lost 2 of their first 3 games in the season opening series against the Blue Jays. They showed some great offense scoring an average of 7.6 runs per game but also allowed a lot of runs. Brad Miller leads the team with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. Corey Seager is batting for .462 avg and .500 OBP.
